And yoga, like astrology, predates written history. So why is it so popular now? Because like astrology, yoga can be a way to achieve self-awareness and inner peace -- not to mention that it's a great, low-impact way to get in shape! But which type of practice is right for you? Explore our recommendations based on your Zodiacal Element for some ideas!

Fire

Yoga may not be fitness first choice for all you Aries, Leos and Sagittarians … it just seems so slow! You're more attuned to high-impact, high-intensity workouts, physical challenges that offer you instant gratification. You subscribe to the 'no pain, no gain' philosophy of exercise, and so you may look at the deliberate, pretzel-like stretches of yoga and say "Why bother?" But you would be surprised how challenging yoga really is -- especially in the boiling hot intensity of Bikram Yoga or physically demanding Ashtanga, or Power, Yoga.

With the thermostat of the yoga studio cranked to the max and constant movement through the 26 asanas (poses), get set to sweat like you never have before! Bikram is based on the notion that muscles, ligaments and tendons should be stretched in a particular order and under high temperatures to really warm your body up. Sounds just right for a Fire Sign.

Take away the rain forest climate of the Bikram studio and you've just about got Ashtanga. Power Yoga, as it's commonly called, provides a very aerobic, swiftly moving workout through a series of asanas that improve circulation and focus on the harmonization of the breath (Ujjayi Pranayama) with movement. Strenuous and with an emphasis on the invigorating Sun Salutations, Ashtanga's perfect for those of you who are energetic and easily distracted.

Earth

Fitness for the Earth Signs -- Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn -- must be realistic and regimental. These persistent, practical Signs see physical health as a personal responsibility to themselves, a promise they make to themselves. Earth Signs don't mind putting in the hard work it takes to really get into good, maintainable shape. That said, they do need to know that they'll be seeing results for all their effort, or else their precious time has been wasted.

For that reason, Iyengar Yoga, with its careful attention to detail and precise positions really suits the no-nonsense Earth Signs. Couple that with the use of 'props' like belts and blocks and the strict training requirements of Iyengar instructors, and you've got a yoga practice that meets all the criteria for a sensible and effective Earth Sign workout.

There's also Jivamukti, an adaptation of Ashtanga that places more importance on the spiritual possibilities of meditation and study. This combination of challenging physical practice and more metaphysical activities like chanting could really suit the ambitious drive of the Earth Signs, challenging you to integrate your physical and mental energies in pursuit of personal enlightenment.

Air

Air Signs have a pretty indifferent, kind of laissez-faire attitude toward fitness. Geminis, Libras and Aquarians all tend to keep so busy fluttering around socially and talking up a storm that they may feel that they don't need to take time out to exercise -- much less breathe! For that very reason, yoga could be quite beneficial to these intellectual, active Signs.

In Sanskrit, Kripalu means "compassionate union of body, mind, and spirit". This "yoga of consciousness" offeres a balanced (Libras will love it!) approach that aligns the breath and the body. For Signs with such a vested interest in their mental flexibility, Kripalu can open the mind's channels to free up the energy that flows in from the world. It is said to honor the wisdom of the body.

Another physical yoga that is said to build mental consciousness is Svaroopa. For the easily bored Air Sign, this practice teaches many different approaches to the same old poses. With each new way of moving the breath and holding the pose, Svaroopa allows you to further open yourself up and release the tension created by constant activity and stimulation. You may be mentally agile, Air Signs, but your body could benefit from increased flexibility!

Water

Water Signs would seem to take most naturally to the overall philosophy of yoga. With your introspective bent and openness to the more subconscious realms of human experience, yoga's meditative qualities probably appeal more to you than do its physical benefits. You Cancers, Scorpios and Pisceans might even opt to explore the more spiritual -- non-physical -- yogic practices like Tantra or Karma Yoga. If you would like to increase your flexibility and strength, though, Ananda or Anusara Yoga could work for you.

The practice of Ananda Yoga strives for stillness and for harmony between the energies of your body and mind. The chakras play a role in Ananda, too, as do unspoken affirmations. Ananda's purpose is to stir you metaphysically, to awaken to experience that is both controlled and harmonious. The workout itself is more internal than it is aerobic -- perfect for reticent Water Signs.
Anusara literally means 'flowing with grace' or, more simply, 'following your heart'. It's a sensitive and holistic approach to mental and physical self-awareness. It's based on the notion that we gain strength and insight by opening our hearts and accepting the world -- and ourselves -- the way we are. Very respectful of individual skill levels and pace, Anusara yoga is more lighthearted than some other disciplines, emphasizing play and creativity. Each action is seen as an artistic expression.

Details on http://www.spiritualityworld.com

Deep thougts - conscious and subconscious - introspections - reflexions and rewiews

Who or what is God?

Part of spiritual growth and evolution is being open minded to the benefits and detriments of spiritual teachings. There is no doubt concepts of God are shaped by your upbringing, your family’s beliefs, your schooling, your environment - geographically, economically or politically. These concepts are wide and varied from an Atheist’s view of no God, to a Pagan’s view of many gods, to the belief that there’s a superhuman-type God or "God Head" overseeing and orchestrating our very earthly existence .Many also see a God that is Universal Love in all of us.
No matter what view you hold of God there is one thing that’s certain: Your concept of God colors your view of reality. Even the Atheist, who essentially has no view of God, IS a concept of God. Everyone holds a perception of what God is. One could argue that indeed the Atheist does have a God—it is the God of coincidence, evolution, and physicality. Your concept of God is your perception of how you came to be. It is your individual theory of where life itself, where you, came from. "What is God?" should be reshaped to ask; "What is your concept of where life comes from?" It is not a question to be avoided, but to be embraced…a question that lies in your spiritual growth and inner peace.
Part of spiritual growth and evolution is being opened minded to the benefits and detriments of spiritual teachings. Mental and emotional health also are important in achieving spiritual health. Through history people sick mentally or emotionally have fallen prey to people preying on them and have used religion as a guise. Sadly through the history of mankind leaders and followers of major religions have gone off what the original teachings pronounced. To flourish within the circle of life it is essential that we are healthy in all quadrants of our health: Physical, Emotional, Mental and Spiritual. Through .

Concept of God

Whether you deny that God exists, or are active in promoting his cause, it depends on your concept of him. It is imperative to examine just whom and what he is, whatever you believe about him. This article may be published if the resource box is left intact.
The word, “concept” is defined as an abstract or general idea inferred or derived from specific instances. One of the most important concepts is the picture formed in the mind when God is thought of. We serve him in direct proportion to our concept of him. Some think of God as nothing more than nature, others believe that he a deity of love only, without punishment for wrong doing. The different concepts of the Lord account for the different responses to him.
Many people acknowledge that God exists, but apparently some don't think they need to do anything to be accepted by him. They go on their merry way, living as they please, and believe that they will have his blessings when they die.
People speak of the many ways to heaven, but Jesus only mentioned two ways. One leads to punishment for the disobedient, the other to rewards for the righteous. He indicated that there is a broad way that leads to destruction, with many entering through it. The road that leads to life is small and narrow. Only a few will find this way (MT 7:13-14). We must follow the principles in the Bible to find the narrow way to heaven.
The problem is that mankind has trouble understanding who God is. Pharaoh asked, “Who is the Lord that I should obey him”(EX 5:2)? He felt the terror of his wrath but he never learned of his love and compassion. A one-sided view of God can be worse than not knowing him at all.
When you think of God, what picture is formed in your mind? Do you see an old man that is too feeble to help with your troubles? Is he an angry being poised to punish anyone that gives in to sin? Do you imagine you only have to be concerned with him when you are in trouble or at worship time? Some believe they can make a deal with him and be saved on their own terms. We have no input on this; he gives his terms and we either accept them or reject them.
People have different responses to the Lord according to their concept of him. Faith is formed by the knowledge of the Bible. This is often mixed with bits of information heard about the Lord, and our own ideas. The only information of value about God is that contained in Scripture. One cannot obtain an accurate picture of the Lord without knowledge of his word. With incomplete information we get a small part of the total. People respond to God with inappropriate actions because they have the wrong concept of him.
If one believes that God is the creator of the universe, the question of obligation to him comes up. Most agree that governments have the authority to make laws that must be followed. Everyone must submit to the rules of the law or answer to its officers and courts. Since God’s authority far outweighs civil jurisdiction, it follows that we are obligated to obey his rules. The fact that he has the power of life and death both physical and spiritual, compels us to make a choice. He will make a choice about where each of us will spend eternity. His choice is based on our response to the principles of the New Testament. The choice made depends on our concept of him. The good news is that his grace forgives the sins of the obedient through the blood of his Son.

Healthy weight loss-Diets-Programmes

Healthy weight loss

Losing weight can be a real uphill task. But choosing an ideal weight loss programme could be even tougher. Is it better to go to a clinic or should you try on your own? How fast should you lose weight? How much should you lose? These are some questions you should consider.

For those who are constantly fighting fat, there are numerous weight loss programmes and health clinics that help you not only with the battle of the girth but a complete lifestyle change as well. Most clinics say their programmes are custom made to suit the individual's body type, medical history and of course age. These include diet modification, exercise routine and lifestyle changes. Psychological counselling and supportive therapies are also important as many people come with heavier burdens than just their weight.

The basic problem with rapid weight loss is one, the rebound weight gain that means if you are not able to put in the same amount of exercise, you gain double the amount of weight that you lost in one month. Two, if you are loosing very rapid weight because of the low caloric diet, you tend to have certain problems within the body.

The problem with electrolytes, sodium, potassium, which are very important substances in the body, directly affects the heart. Also, effects of thyroid hormones cause defective thermo regulation, decrease in body temperature, precipitation of gallstones.Exercising is an important part of any successful weight loss programme. This can either be a strenuous workout in a state-of-the-art gym or a brisk walk in the neighborhood park. Choosing a weight loss programme is not easy. When it comes to losing weight, what works for one might not work for another. It is essential to pick a weight loss programme that suits your pockets and lifestyle and also gets you the results in the healthiest way. It is you who ultimately make any programme a success.

A modest amount of weight loss (just 5% to 10% of your initial weight) can reduce your risk of serious health problems such as: heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, certain types of cancer and arthritis, and respiratory disease. The most important thing to remember as you begin any weight loss plan is that there is no quick fix or magic pill that will help you lose your extra pounds and keep them off.The most successful weight loss plans combine:-healthy eating, -balanced nutrition and -regular exercise to help you lose weight. Often, people find themselves in a perpetual diet cycle, always thinking they have a few pounds to lose, or yo-yo dieting – losing weight and then gaining it right back, only to start dieting again. By putting more emphasis on improving your health, experts agree that you can raise your overall self–esteem, resulting in healthier eating habits, long-term weight loss and improved health.

Successful weight loss over the long term will likely include:

-adhering to a healthy lifestyle (including -nutritious foods and physical activity),

-making changes in the way you think about food,

-paying attention to reasons why you eat (emotions, boredom, or reward vs. actually being hungry).

Whether you are overweight or would just like to lose a few extra pounds and get in better shape, you have probably heard of some of the popular diets and their different claims to help you lose weight. You may be wondering if they really work and about their health benefits. To assist you in better understanding many of the currently popular diets, we’ve compiled a comparison of nine of them including their claims, what foods are prescribed, and a sampling of comments from prominent health professionals and organizations, to provide a condensed overview of each. The overview is in no way comprehensive, but will give you a head-start on delving deeper to identify which diet might work best for you.

(comming soon in next blog) http://body2soul.bravehost.com

Depression-Clinical Depression-Anxiety-Panic-Depression Treatments

Depression and cure by meditations and yoga

Depression is one of the most common psychological problems, affecting nearly everyone through either personal experience or through depression in a family member. Depression can interfere with normal functioning, and frequently causes problems with work, social and family adjustment. It causes pain and suffering not only to those who have a disorder, but also to those who care about them. Serious depression can destroy family life as well as the life of the depressed person.

Traumatic Events

Many times, people who become depressed report that a single traumatic event happened just prior to their becoming depressed. Painful experiences such as the death of a loved one, divorce, a medical illness, or losing everything in a natural disaster may be so impactful as to trigger clinical depression. Events like these take away a sense of control and cause great emotional upheaval. Some traumatic events may cause more distress for one person than for another.
Childhood Difficulties

People who become clinically depressed have generally experienced more severe difficulties in childhood than those who do not become depressed. These difficulties may include sexual or physical
abuse, a turbulent upbringing, separation from a parent, or mental illness in a parent.

Stress and Depression

There appears to be a complex relationship among stressful situations, our mind and body's reaction to stress, and the onset of clinical depression. It is clear that some people develop depression after a stressful event in their lives.A stressful event itself can actually cause a person to become depressed is not fully known.
There are times when we all must struggle with very painful situations in our lives. More times than not these changes do not result in a person
becoming clinically depressed. In fact, sometimes people become depressed even when there is little or no stress in their lives and everything seems to be going very well. And, no single stressful event will cause depression to develop in every person. The same type of stressor may lead to depression in one person, but not another. Some people may become depressed as a result of having to struggle with chronic stress. These constant difficulties may come in the form of having to juggle multiple roles at home and work, making major changes in lifestyle, being in an abusive environment, etc. They may also come with important and normal transitions in life such as late adolescence and early adulthood when many people separate from their families to establish their own independence. Environmental causes of depression are concerned with factors that are outside of ourselves. They are not directly related to brain function, inherited traits from parents, medical illnesses, or anything else that may take place within us.

Environmental events are those things that happen in the course of our everyday lives. These may include situations such as prolonged stress at home or work, coping with the loss of a loved one, or traumatic events. that happen in the course of our everyday lives. These may include situations such as prolonged stress at home or work, coping with the loss of a loved one, or traumatic events.

Mood swings are common occurrences experienced by almost everyone. From time to time, we all feel a little stressed, anxious or depressed. Mood swings should not be confused with Bipolar Disorderer which is characterized by extreme fluctuations of mood that persist for weeks or months at a time.Mood swings can be frustrating to the individual experiencing them, as well as for loved ones and friends who may never which particular mood you are currently in.
Seasonal Affective Disorder, or SAD, is a common form of depression that is experienced during a particular time of year. Most often, people with SAD experience depressive episode during the Fall and Wintermonths. Though the exact reasons are not known, some theories suggest that SAD may be caused by the reduction of daylight hours which may disrupt our biological body clocks, which in turn may disturb circadian rhythms within our body.Symptoms of SAD are similar to depression and include disturbed sleep patterns, difficulty waking up, apathy, sadness and decreased physical activity.
Depressive disorders make one feel exhausted, worthless, helpless, and hopeless. Such negative thoughts and feelings make some people feel like
giving up. It is important to realize that these negative views are part of the depression and typically do not accurately reflect the situation. People who are depressed very often have negative beliefs about their ability to manage aspects of their lives based on perceived failures in the past. a stressful event itself can actually cause a person to become depressed is not fully known. There are times when we all must struggle with very painful situations in our lives. More times than not these changes do not result in a person becoming clinically depressed. In fact, sometimes people become depressed even when there is little or no stress in their lives and everything seems to be going very well. And, no single stressful event will cause depression to develop in every person.
The same type of stressor may lead to depression in one person, but not another.
Bipolar Disorder

The distinguishing characteristic of Bipolar Disorder, as compared to other mood disorders, is the presence of at least one manic episode.
Additionally, it is presumed to be a chronic condition because the vast majority of individuals who have one manic episode have additional episodes in the future. Every individual with bipolar disorder has a unique pattern of mood cycles, combining depression and manic episodes, that is specific to that individual, but predictable once the pattern is identified. Research studies suggest a strong genetic influence in bipolar disorder. Most individuals with bipolar disorder do not perceive their manic episodes as needing treatment, and they resist entering treatment. This is a serious judgment problem. As the manic episode progresses, concentration becomes difficult, thinking becomes more grandiose, and problems develop. Unfortunately, the risk taking
behavior usually results in significant painful consequences such as loss of a job or a relationship, running up excessive debts, or getting into legal difficulties.

"[Buddhist and Hindu psychology's] basic prescription is for the daily practice of meditation, and I am inclined to agree that this is the best way to get at the root of depression and change it. That requires a long-term commitment, however, since meditation does not produce fast results." Now if you don't like the eastern flavor of meditation you can change its focus to reflect your own cultural beliefs. You can meditate on Jesus or Moses or Allah. In place of a Sanskrit mantra, you can repeat over and over: "Our Father who art in Heaven... " or "Hear, oh Israel, ...the Lord is one ...," or "There is no God but God ... " Meditation usually refers to a state of extreme relaxation, in which the body is generally at rest and the mind quieted of all surface thoughts.Meditation is closely akin to prayer and worship, wherein the practitioner turns spiritual thoughts over in the mind and engages the brain in higher thinking processes. The goal in this case is the receipt of spiritual insights and new understanding. The techniques of meditation are simple and easy to learn, but the ability to keep the mind focused takes time, patience and practice. The benefits of a regular meditation practice include reduction of stress, tension, anxiety and frustration, as well as improved memory, concentration, inner peace and whole body well-being. But the beauty of yoga and meditation is that you can practice it without any of its religious
trappings, whatsoever.
Healing Depression with Yoga

It is common to feel the blues from time to time, and when this happens it can be healing to simply feel and be with your emotions. Acute feelings of depression can be sign that your body needs rest and your mind needs a break. Take a nap, read a book, let yourself be lazy and accept what you are feeling. If you are experience depression for more than a few days, however, you may need to take action and work on moving through it.
Yoga’s regulating and energizing properties can help alleviate many of the symptoms of mild depression Yoga postures will activate and move prana in the body, open the heart center, stimulate the nervous system and balance the body-mind-spirit. If you are mostly feeling frustration, use postures that open the insides of the legs (bound angle, standing
angle) and stretch the sides of the torso (half circle, half moon). For feelings of sadness and grief, focus on postures that open the chest and
inner arms (fish, threading the needle, boat). For low motivation or low energy use back and forward bending postures (cobra, forward fold, sun
salutations). A slow, gentle practice is recommended; do not overexert yourself or you may end up more tired than you began. Practice as often
as possible; daily is most beneficial.

Yogic Meditation

Sit in a comfortable position, either cross-legged on the floor or in a chair. Sit up tall with the spine straight, the shoulders relaxed and the chest open. Rest the hands on the knees with the palms facing up. Lightly touch the index finger to the thumb. Relax the face, jaw, and belly. Let the tongue rest on the roof of the mouth, just behind the front teeth. Allow the eyes to lightly close. Breathe slowly, smoothly and deeply in and out through the nose. Let the inhale start in the belly and then rise gently up into the chest. As the breath slows and deepens, let go of any thoughts or distractions and allow the mind to focus on the breath. Feel the breath as it moves in and out of the body, feeling it move through the nose, throat, windpipe and lungs. Feel the body as it rises and falls with each breath. Bring as much of your awareness and attention to your body and breath as possible with each moment. As the thoughts return to the mind, let them go, and return the focus back to the body and breath. Practice this meditation for 10-20 minutes. To end, gently let the eyes blink open, inhale the palms together in front of the heart, exhale and gently bow. Take a moment or two before moving on with the rest of your day.

more on : http://body2soul.bravehost.com

Health Care Nutrition Diet Slim Blood Pressure & Blood Groups

True health is a combination of many factors and involves good nutrition, fresh unpolluted air , moderate exercise , rest , good hygiene an optimistic outlook of life. The Blood Type Diet, popularized by the best-selling book Eat Right For Your Type by Peter D’Adamo, ND, is based on the theory that people with different blood types respond differently to specific foods. Dr. D’Adamo’s ideas are rooted in evolutionary history, and, specifically, the observation that different blood types (Type O, Type A, Type B, and Type AB) emerged as the environmental conditions and eating styles of our ancestors changed. Between 50,000 BC and 25,000 BC, all humans shared the same blood type—Type O. These early humans were skilled hunters, and thrived on a meat-based diet. The Type A blood type emerged between 25,000 BC and 15,000 BC, a necessary adaptation to a more agrarian lifestyle. Climatic changes in the western Himalayan mountains led to the appearance of Type B, and the blending of Type A and Type B blood types in modern civilization resulted in the appearance of the Type AB blood type .
According to Japaneses, gentleman named Furukawa Takeji, the Japanese believe that a person's blood type affects their personality. Each blood type has a personality profile. These profiles—which I took from a site whose location is long since lost in the mists of time, my apologies—are:
Type A
People with blood type A have a deep-rooted strength that helps them stay calm in a crisis when everyone else is panicking. However, they tend to avoid confrontation, and feel very uncomfortable around people. A types are shy and sometimes withdrawn. They seek harmony and are very polite, but all the same feel that they never really fit in with others. A types are very responsible. If there is a job to be done, they prefer to take care of it themselves. These people crave success and are perfectionists. They are also very creative, and the most artistic of all the blood types, most likely because of their sensitivity.
People with blood type A are also likely to be considered classic "type A's": stressed and conscientious.
Type B
People with blood type B are the most practical of the blood groups. They are specialists in what they do. When they start a project, they spend extra time understanding and trying to follow directions than others might. When they are doing something, all of their attention is focused on it. They tend to stick to a goal and follow it through to the end, even if it seems impossible. They tend to be less than cooperative, as they like to follow their own rules and their own ideas. They are individualists. B type people pay attention to their thoughts a little more than their feelings, and therefore can sometimes seem cold and serious.
People with blood type B are often considered more relaxed, freewheeling, and unconventional than other types, although not necessarily to an unacceptable degree. In anime, the genki, off-the-wall types are type B, along with any kind of well-intended character who's ruled by their impulses.
Type O
People with blood type O people are outgoing, energetic and social. They are the most flexible of the blood types. They easily start up projects but often have trouble following through because they give up easily. They are flighty and not too dependable. O types always say what's on their mind. They value the opinion of others and like to be the center of attention. Also, people with O blood are extremely self-confident.
Type O, the most "average" blood type, is considered the best type in Japan
Type AB
People with blood type AB are hard to categorize. They can have characteristics on both ends of the spectrum at the same time. For instance, they are both shy and outgoing. They easily switch from one opposite to another. AB people are trustworthy and responsible, but can't handle it when too much is asked of them. They don't mind doing favors or helping out, as long as its on their own conditions. People with this blood type are interested in art and metaphysics.
AB is considered the worst blood type. In predictability-loving Japan, they're loose cannons. They also like to set their own conditions and reserve the right to drop out when things don't meet their expectations. They're known to be sensitive and considerate—at times—but it just isn't enough to balance out the flaws in this blood type. For a while, some companies tried dividing their employees into work groups based on blood type, and no one wanted to work with the AB group. Anime villains are likely to be type AB.
A is most compatible with A and AB.
B is most compatible with B and AB.
AB is most compatible with AB, B, A, and O.
O is most compatible with O and AB.
The idea that blood type determines personality has been dying out slowly in Japan. At the same time, the West has finally noticed the potential of blood typing. We haven't quite cottoned onto the idea that blood type is related to personality, but there's a growing belief in fad diets that teach that each blood type evolved at a certain point in human history, so people with that blood type should eat the diet most common among humans at that point. Instead of balanced, nicely average O's, we have savage cavemen hunching around the fire and tearing at hunks of meat; solid-citizen type A's become "docile vegetarians" as well; bouncy type B's get to indulge in ice cream and cheese; and type AB's, as always, are half one thing and half another, and get to eat vegan food or dairy-and-everything-else. IF it suits them. Blood type diets are worth looking into if only to imagine your favorite characters' reactions to their new diets
According to Dr. D’Adamo, the physiological reason why people should eat according to their blood type relates to lectins, which are protein-like substances found in many commonly eaten foods. Lectins, also known as phytohemagglutins, were first identified in 1888, at which time it was discovered that lectins interact with sugar-containing molecules on the surface of cells. This discovery allowed certain lectins to be used in blood typing, since blood type is determined by the presence (or absence) of specific sugar-protein residues on the surface of red blood cells. These residues are called antigens. Antigens play a crucial role in the function of the immune system, as they allow your body to distinguish between what is friend and what is foe. When an antigen enters your body that is unlike your blood type antigen, your immune system identifies it as a foreigner and prepares to attack and kill the invader. This process starts with the production of an antibody, which attaches to the foreign antigen, making it sticky and causing it to clump together with other antigens on viruses, bacteria, parasites, and cancer cells. This process, called agglutination, is necessary for your immune system to eradicate foreign invaders and protect you from colds, flus, and even cancer.
Foods AvoidedIndividuals with Type O blood must strictly avoid eggs and dairy foods, breads and pastas made from wheat, cabbage and Brussel sprouts, and corn.
Individuals with Type A blood should eliminate all meat products, whole fat dairy products, peppers, tomatoes, and tropical and citrus fruits.
Individuals with Type B blood are encouraged to avoid chicken, bacon, ham, and shellfish entirely. In addition, it is recommended that individuals with Type B blood limit consumption of beef, wheat, rye, tomatoes and corn.
Individuals with Type AB blood must strictly avoid all smoked or cured meats and limit consumption of beef, wheat, corn, tropical fruits, oranges and bananas.Menu IdeasThe following menu ideas are taken from "Eat Right For Your Type":
Typo O Diet
Breakfast
2 slices Ezekiel bread with butter or organic almond butter 6 ounces vegetable juice Banana Green tea Lunch
Organic Roast Beef, 6 ounces Spinach Salad Apple or pineapple slices Water or seltzer Dinner
Lamb and Asparagus Stew Steamed broccoli Sweet potato Mixed fresh fruit (blueberries, kiwi, grapes, peaches) Seltzer or herbal tea Type A Diet
Breakfast
Water with lemon Oatmeal with soy milk and maple syrup Lunch
Greek salad (chopped lettuce, celery, green onions, cucumber, feta cheese, lemon and fresh mint) Apple 1 slice sprouted wheat bread Herbal tea Dinner
Tofu-Pesto Lasagna Broccoli Frozen yogurt Coffee or herbal tea Type B Diet
Breakfast
Rice bran cereal with banana and skim milk Grape Juice Coffee Lunch
1 thin slice of Swiss cheese, 1 thin slice of turkey breast 2 slices spelt bread Mustard or mayonnaise Green salad Herbal tea Dinner
Broiled Fish Roasted yams with rosemary Steamed vegetables Mixed fresh fruit Herbal tea or coffee Type AB Diet
Breakfast
Water with lemon 8 ounces diluted grapefruit juice 2 slices Ezekiel bread Yogurt-Herb Cheese Coffee Lunch
4 ounces sliced turkey breast 2 slices rye bread Caesar salad 2 plums Herbal Tea Dinner
Tofu Omelet Stir-fried vegetables Mixed fruit salad Decaffeinated coffee
Most diets promise weight loss. There is only one way to lose weight by diet alone and that is by taking in fewer calories. So, when people lose weight on any of these diets, the reason is the same -- because they are eating less. Some diets, however, make health claims. They promise to increase longevity, reverse atherosclerosis or help with other diseases or problems that have little to do with body weight.
Another thing that most of these diets have in common is that they go beyond calorie limits and target either specific macronutrients (e.g., fat, carbohydrate, protein) or particular types of foods. Most ask dieters to eat more, eat less or entirely avoid one kind of food or another. It was rediscovered by Gotama Buddha more than 2500 years ago and was taught by him as a universal remedy for universal ills, i.e., an Art Of Living.

This non-sectarian technique aims for the total eradication of mental impurities and the resultant highest happiness of full liberation. Healing, not merely the curing of diseases, but the essential healing of human suffering, is its purpose.

Vipassana is a way of self-transformation through self-observation. It focuses on the deep interconnection between mind and body, which can be experienced directly by disciplined attention to the physical sensations that form the life of the body, and that continuously interconnect and condition the life of the mind. It is this observation-based, self-exploratory journey to the common root of mind and body that dissolves mental impurity, resulting in a balanced mind full of love and compassion.

The scientific laws that operate one's thoughts, feelings, judgements and sensations become clear. Through direct experience, the nature of how one grows or regresses, how one produces suffering or frees oneself from suffering is understood. Life becomes characterized by increased awareness, non-delusion, self-control and peace.

The Tradition Since the time of Buddha, Vipassana has been handed down, to the present day, by an unbroken chain of teachers. Although Indian by descent, the current teacher in this chain, Mr. S.N. Goenka was born and raised in Burma (Myanmar). While living there he had the good fortune to learn Vipassana from his teacher, Sayagyi U Ba Khin who was at the time a high Government official.

After receiving training from his teacher for fourteen years, Mr. Goenka settled in India and began teaching Vipassana in 1969. Since then he has taught tens of thousands of people of all races and all religions in both the East and West. In 1982 he began to appoint assistant teachers to help him meet the growing demand for Vipassana courses. Recent research has shown yoga and meditation to reduce blood pressure, lower the pulse rate, improve the elasticity of the arteries, regulate heart rhythm, and increase the heart’s stroke volume.

Yoga, in short, is good for your heart. Stress is considered a major contributing factor in heart disease. Stressful situations raise your heart rate and blood pressure, and release stress hormones, which all can injure the heart and the blood vessels, especially during prolonged or repeated exposures.

Yoga is widely known for its ability to reduce stress and promote a calm relaxed state, which in turn reduces stress hormones, decreases the heart rate and lowers blood pressure, helping to control and prevent heart disease.

The breath has a strong influence on the rhythm of the heart through the inner connections in the central nervous system. Slow deep breathing is encouraged by hatha yoga, pranayama (yogic breathing exercises) and verbal recitation of mantras. And this smoothing and lengthening of the breath slows the heart rate, regulates the heart rhythm, oxygenates the blood, and induces a feeling of calm and well-being.

All of the benefits of establishing a slow steady breath rhythm have been shown to reduce the risk of heart attacks and strokes.Because of their effects on both the physical and energetic bodies, specific types of yoga postures can be used to control and prevent heart disease. Upper back-bending poses open the chest to improve heart function and respiration. Side-bending poses open the energy channels of the liver, gallbladder and heart to help remove physical and energetic blockages in the heart and chest. Spine lengthening poses promote good posture to reduce compression on the heart and lungs and to facilitate proper functioning of the heart.

Shavasana (corpse or relaxation pose) is deeply calming and has been shown to reduce high blood pressure in just a few weeks. Inversions help to rest the heart muscle and improve blood circulation, but are contraindicated with unmedicated high blood pressure. Findings show that people who practice yoga and meditation at least three times a week may reduce their blood pressure, pulse and their overall risk of heart disease.

Meditation is renowned for its ability to calm the mind and reduce stress. It also can reduce heart-harmful emotions, such as anxiety, hostility and hopelessness. And studies have shown that a daily meditation practice can reduce the amount of fatty deposits in the arteries, as well as lower blood pressure.Practicing yoga naturally leads one to choose a healthier lifestyle, which most often eliminates or minimizes heart disease’s dietary risk factors of refined sugar, alcohol, high cholesterol and fat rich foods, and caffeine. While all of these yogic practices have been shown to help prevent and control heart disease, when they are practiced together they create powerful healing synergy on the heart.

Dr. Dean Ornish’s famous study has shown that heart disease can not only be controlled, but can actually be reversed through diet, meditation, group support, and yoga.

More on...... http://body2soul.bravehost.com
Meditation Techniques Scientifica Meditation
http://www.body2soul.bravehost.com/meditation.html
Yoga Yoga Postures Yoga Teachers Yoga Pilates
http://www.body2soul.bravehost.com/Yoga.html

Curry Spice Plus Cabbage Compound May Fight Cancer

Numerous studies have suggested the curry spice turmeric can help fight off cancer whihc IIndians have been using since ages.
And new research suggests it might help protect against -- and even treat -- prostate cancer, especially when combined with a substance found in cauliflower, cabbage and other kinds of vegetables.
Researchers at Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, found that a combination of turmeric (also called curcumin) and phenethyl isothiocyanate (PEITC) was effective against prostate cancer. PEITC is abundant in a group of vegetables that includes cauliflower, cabbage, watercress, winter cress, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, kale, kohlrabi and turnips.
"The bottom line is that PEITC and curcumin, alone or in combination, demonstrate significant cancer-preventive qualities in laboratory mice, and the combination of PEITC and curcumin could be effective in treating established prostate cancers," Ah-Ng Tony Kong, a professor of pharmaceutics, said in a prepared statement.
He and his colleagues created mice with human prostate cancer tumors to test the effectiveness of PEITC and curcumin.
"Despite convincing data from laboratory cell cultures, we knew little about how PEITC and curcumin would perform in live animals, especially on prostate cancer," Kong said. "So, we undertook this study to evaluate how effective PEITC and curcumin might be -- individually and in combination -- to prevent and possibly treat prostate cancer."
The mice were injected with PEITC or curcumin, alone or in combination, three times a week for four weeks. The injections began a day before the prostate cancer cells were placed in the mice.
The study was published in the Jan. 15 issue of Cancer Research. In order to locate blockages of chi, the Pranic practitioner scans the recipient’s aura or "energy field." Chi energies are then projected through the Pranic practitioner’s palm chakras to cleanse, energize, and revitalize the problematic area.Everyone has the innate ability to heal and relieve pain. If I could learn how to heal effectively, then you can also! All that is needed is a certain amount of concentration, determination and most of all the willingness to heal. In fact, it is easier to learn to heal than learning to ride a bicycle or play the piano. These are encouraging words from the Oriental Master Healer Choa Kok Sui. He is the originator of the GRANDMASTER CHOA KOK SUI PRANIC HEALING & PRANIC PSYCHOTHERAPY COURSES, now taught in countries all over the world. He also authored the books PRANIC HEALING, ADVANCED PRANIC HEALING and PRANIC PSYCHOTHERAPY now translated to 16 languages worldwide. PRANIC HEALING is actually a distillation of essences of the worlds most effective healing modalities - Chinese Chi Kung, Reiki, Christian laying on of hands", Tibetan Healing arts and more.PRANIC HEALING scientifically utilizes the prana or life force readily available from the sun, air and ground to heal physical and emotional imbalances. It requires no drugs, gadgets not even physical contact with the subject. No physical contact is required because the practitioner is working on the bioplasmic or energy body and not directly on the physical body. The bioplasmic body, commonly known as the aura, is what clairvoyants perceive as the luminous energy field that interpenetrates the visible physical body. PRANIC HEALING's effectiveness relies on the fact that there is an intimate connection between these two bodies. As we heal the bioplasmic body it creates a new and perfect pattern for the physical counterpart to follow, resulting in a healing. PRANIC HEALING acts as a powerful catalyst to spark the bodys inborn ability to heal itself. However, it is not meant to replace orthodox medicine but rather to complement and enhance it.How could a person learn to heal effectively in a very short time? In PRANIC HEALING this is accomplished by giving the student a step by step cookbook approach to healing. Below are some of the fundamental principles of PRANIC HEALING.CLEANSING: It is by removing the diseased energies from the affected energy centers/diseased organs and then energizing them with sufficient life force/prana that healing is accomplished. Energizing without first cleansing is like pouring fresh coffee into a cup that is already filled with stale coffee. This approach is slow and quite wasteful. A healing crisis is most likely to occur if the diseased energy is pushed further into the body by a willful healer. A healing crisis is a process whereby the body attempts to expel stale or diseased energies. Some of symptoms are vomiting, fever, diarrhea, fatigue and heavy sweating.ENERGIZING: Most of us know of some healer or health practitioner who has become drained by performing a healing or counseling session. Most healers make the mistake of using the battery approach by transmitting their own life force energy to their subject. When they get drained they have to take a retreat or a recharging time to replenish their energies. In PRANIC HEALINGsm we utilize the "water pump" approach. All of us are swimming in an ocean of energies. By knowing how to properly pump the energies to our bodies and then systematically projecting them to the subject, we are able to sufficiently energize the subject without draining our own supply of life force.DECONTAMINATION: Most healers get sick either because their life force gets drained or they are contaminated by their subjects diseased energies. Absorption of diseased energies occurs not only on the physical level but also on the etheric, astral, mental and spiritual levels. Decontamination also involves the purification of the healing space for the benefit of the healer and future clients. By diligently observing this comprehensive Healing Hygiene, a healer is assured many years of good health while providing service to his/her clients.SYSTEMATIC APPLICATION OF ENERGY ON THE MAJOR & MINOR CHAKRAS: Chakras is a Sanskrit term for wheels. Clairvoyants perceive chakras as spinning wheels of light. They act as energy power stations to enable your energy body or aura to absorb and process energy from our surrounding. After extensive research with the help of high level clairvoyants as well as medical professionals, GrandMaster Choa has been able to synthesize a list of different ailments and the corresponding energy centers that affect them. Each ailment has a unique group of chakras that are affected. So by properly applying the correct technique to the affected chakras, you can expect to produce results consistently.ADVANCED PRANIC HEALINGsm White prana from the environment is absorbed by the energy body and then digested into different color energies to be utilized by the different organs. By using intention and visualization skills you can project color energies to the subject to produce more effective healing results. Examples of this would be using red prana on asthma subjects to help dilate their constricted air tubes and the use of blue prana to cool off a subject with a fever. More severe ailments like AIDS and cancer respond better to more potent color frequencies like violet and electric violet. Using color prana is like going to a specialist instead of a general practitioner.PRANIC PSYCHOTHERAPYsm is used to heal emotional and psychological problems. When patients talk to their counselors, it is actually a process of externalizing the negative emotional energies stored in their astral and mental bodies. Negative emotions and traumatic experiences are essentially negative thoughts and emotional energies lodged on to the aura and the specific energy centers of the subject. These energies are often difficult to release, requiring months or even years of traditional psychotherapy. By using advanced energetic extraction techniques on the affected chakras, childhood emotional traumas, phobias, compulsions and addictions can be alleviated in a very short time. This is all done without the recipient even having to reveal any potentially embarrassing personal information. It is not uncommon that in just the first session the subject experiences an unusual sense of peace and serenity, like a big weight has been lifted from their shoulders. When coupled with traditional therapies and techniques, PRANIC PSYCHOTHERAPY offers you the ability to quickly and safely release these crippling energetic patterns.PRANIC HEALING, ADVANCED PRANIC HEALING, & PRANIC PSYCHOTHERAPY enable you to heal confidently and consistently in the shortest amount of learning time possible. However, they are not meant to replace orthodox medicine rather to complement and enhance them. As GrandMaster Choa Kok Sui says, With so much pain and suffering around us it is my goal to make paranormal healing quite normal and commonplace in the near future."
